Seiya Suzuki performance with Chicago Cubs

Chicago Cubs outfielder Seiya Suzuki has reached significant milestones during his recent performances. On August 12, Suzuki hit his 20th home run of the season against the Washington Nationals, marking his fourth consecutive season reaching the 20-home run milestone. He is the first Japanese right-handed batter to achieve this feat, joining Shohei Ohtani, Kazuma Okamoto, and Munetaka Murakami as Japanese players to reach 20 home runs this season.

On August 14, Suzuki hit a decisive three-run home run in the sixth inning against the St. Louis Cardinals at Wrigley Field. This 21st home run of the season secured a 3-0 victory for the Cubs and brought his season total to 73 RBIs, tying him with Pete Crow-Armstrong for the team lead.

On August 25, Suzuki recorded his first RBI in six games against the Arizona Diamondbacks with an RBI double. Despite a subsequent 5-4 walk-off loss to Arizona, Suzuki maintained a .271 batting average and 22 home runs.

On September 1, Suzuki contributed to a franchise-record performance as the Cubs hit nine home runs in a 17-3 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers. Suzuki recorded three hits in five at-bats, including his 24th home run of the season. This performance also marked a professional milestone for Suzuki, who has now reached 1,600 combined hits across his career in Japan and the United States. Suzuki is expected to enter free agency this offseason following the conclusion of his current contract.
