U.S. District Court Judge Leonard T. Strand ordered the 30-month prison term and two-and-a-half years of supervised release. The judge noted that the sentence would commence after Thompson completes any pending criminal cases in Washington and Missouri. To keep Thompson near his family, the judge suggested he serve his time in a federal facility located in Oklahoma, Illinois, or Kansas.
