Serang City and Banten infrastructure development
Overview
The Serang City Government and the Banten Provincial Government are executing various regional development and infrastructure initiatives. In late August 2026, Serang City announced the allocation of nearly Rp21 billion in its revised budget to support the ‘3 Million Houses Program’. This includes waiving Land and Building Transfer Tax (BPHTB) and Building Approval (PBG) fees for eligible citizens. Concurrently, the ‘Bang Andra’ program has facilitated road construction projects, such as the Citra Gading Road in Cipocok Jaya.
Following these developments, the Banten and Serang governments launched a specific Rp9 billion drainage construction project aimed at mitigating long-term seasonal flooding in the Bumi Agung Permai (BAP) 1 housing complex. Managed by the Banten Provincial Public Works and Spatial Planning Department, the project involves constructing large-scale drainage channels at three strategic locations. The work is expected to be completed by December 2026.
