Serbian free‑share payout from state fund

Overview

In early July 2026 the Serbian government announced that citizens would receive a payment of up to €300 million from the state‑owned Akcionarski fond. By the end of July the details were clarified: each adult will be paid roughly 6,000 dinars (about €55) at the end of September. The payout stems from shares automatically allocated to all citizens under the 2007 free‑share law, including five shares of Naftna Industrija Srbije, one share of Aerodrom Beograd, 31 shares of Telekom Srbija and seven shares of the Akcionarski fond itself. The fund, created in 2010, now holds just under 30 billion dinars from privatizations, bankruptcies, returned shares and dividends. Citizens can confirm their holdings at post offices or Poštanska štedionica by presenting an ID card, where staff will verify ownership.
