Serbian military peacekeeping training and certification

Overview

The Serbian Armed Forces have undergone a series of evaluations and training programs to enhance their capacity for international peacekeeping operations.

Initially, various units—including light infantry, engineering, military police, and chemical defense platoons—completed combat readiness and interoperability assessments at the ‘Jug’ base and ‘Borovac’ training ground. These assessments, conducted under the Partnership for Peace program, resulted in certifications valid for four years for units prepared for multinational deployment.

Following these readiness tests, the Serbian Army hosted a specialized five-day international training course at the ‘Jug’ base focused on civilian protection. The program, organized by the Serbian Army Peacekeeping Operations Center, included personnel from 14 different countries and featured instructors from several partner nations, including Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Hungary, Germany, and Switzerland.
