SescTV documentary series releases

Overview

SescTV is launching several original documentary series exploring different facets of Brazilian society and history.

In October, the network announced ‘Retratos Familiares: O Brasil em Transformação’ (Family Portraits: Brazil in Transformation). Directed by Paulo Markun and Laine Milan, the eight-episode series uses 2022 Census findings to examine changing family structures, including an aging population, declining birth rates, and diverse domestic arrangements.

Following this, the network announced ‘A História da Alimentação no Brasil’ (The History of Food in Brazil), scheduled to debut on November 18. This 13-episode series, directed by Eugênio Puppo, investigates how Indigenous, African, and Portuguese cultures shaped the nation’s culinary identity through various ingredients and traditions.
