Overview

In Chalkida, the municipal water and sewage utility (D.E.Y.A.X.) has initiated urgent repairs following four consecutive sewage pipe failures on central roads. The maintenance work involves replacing various sections of pressure and gravity pipes at several intersections, including Venizelou, Pharmakidou, and Giardini streets, with completion anticipated by the end of August.

Following these incidents, microbiological sampling at Chalkida Beach indicated that safety parameters had not been exceeded. However, the Port Authority has requested the Euboea Regional Unit’s Health Department to perform additional testing.
