Sexual assault and harassment incidents in Hamburg

In late August 2026, Hamburg police launched an investigation into a sexual assault in the Wandsbek district. Authorities reported that a masked man gained unauthorized entry into a woman’s apartment to harass her and perform sexual acts before fleeing.

By early September, police reported two additional incidents of sexual harassment involving female joggers in the Marienthal and Wandsbek districts. These attacks occurred approximately ten minutes apart on a Tuesday evening. In both cases, the suspect was on a bicycle. Witnesses described the individual as wearing a dark teddy-fleece top and dark trousers, riding a black bicycle with wide tires. Police are investigating whether these incidents are linked.
