The Court directed the registration of a public interest litigation and emphasized that the right to live without fear of violence is a fundamental right under Article 21 of the Constitution. During proceedings, the Bench of Justices J. B. Pardiwala and K. Vinod Chandran drew parallels to the 2012 Nirbhaya case, questioning if administrative systems had made meaningful progress. The Court specifically noted incidents such as the gang rape of a 17-year-old at Aastha Kunj Park and the assault of a minor on a sleeper bus from Greater Noida. In response to the Court's intervention, the Delhi Police Commissioner has been directed to establish district-level teams within four weeks to identify and map vulnerable areas for women and children. The Supreme Court also urged media outlets to practice ‘responsible and empathetic journalism’ to avoid disclosing victim identities. Meanwhile, the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has introduced additional night guards and improved lighting, while Lieutenant Governor TS Sandhu ordered a safety audit of all DDA parks.
