Sexual assault investigation in Antwerp
Overview
In Antwerp, Belgium, authorities arrested three men following an investigation into suspected sexual assaults against unconscious women. The probe was initiated after a complaint from the primary suspect’s former partner, who alleged she was filmed without consent during an assault.
Upon seizing digital devices, investigators discovered thousands of images and videos, some dating back to 2008, which reportedly show women in states of unconsciousness. The Antwerp Prosecutor’s Office stated that the examination of this material has uncovered “other serious cases of sexual assault.” Two additional men, aged 37 and 50, were also arrested after being identified in the seized files. While the primary suspect maintains the encounters were consensual, the investigation is ongoing.
