Shabwah governor's development initiatives

In late July 2026, Governor Avad Muhammad bin Al‑Wazir toured the Jardan district of Shabwah, reviewing administrative performance, project progress and local service needs. He ordered the acceleration of the district’s urban plan, reinforced police capacity, pursued legal action against illegal land encroachments, and added school construction and administrative‑building upgrades to the investment budget. The governor highlighted Kuwait’s humanitarian and development assistance, noting funded residential villages, water and dam projects, and upgrades to health and education services, and handed over project studies to Kuwaiti partners for further financing.

A week later, in early August 2026, the same governor turned his attention to Bayhan district, pledging full support for service and development projects there. He received briefings on the “Al‑Nahr” road‑rehabilitation effort linking Al‑Ulya to Bayhan and ordered urgent field surveys and technical studies for the road work. He also directed coordination with the education office and Kuwaiti donors to design new classroom facilities for local students. The meeting underscored a continued focus on infrastructure and education across Shabwah, with sustained Kuwaiti involvement.
