Sharjah International Storytellers Forum

The 26th Sharjah International Storytellers Forum concluded its five-day run in the United Arab Emirates, having brought together more than 120 storytellers and researchers from approximately 30 countries. Under the theme ‘Tales of Friendship,’ the event was organized by the Sharjah Heritage Institute to celebrate oral heritage and facilitate cultural exchange.

In addition to scientific sessions and seminars focused on the documentation of oral traditions, the forum featured diverse interactive activities. These included workshops on traditional Emirati crafts such as Talli, educational programs for children, and community awareness initiatives. Participants also engaged with various cultural expressions, including mosaic making, folk arts, and exhibitions highlighting social values within Arab and international heritage.

Dr. Abdulaziz Al Musallam, President of the Sharjah Institute for Heritage and Chairman of the Organizing Committee, noted that the forum has evolved into a major international cultural event that strengthens Sharjah’s position as a “global capital for culture and heritage.”
