Shōgun television series production

Overview

Production for the second season of the FX historical drama ‘Shōgun’ has concluded following approximately eight months of filming in various locations across British Columbia, Canada, including Vancouver, Burnaby, and Kamloops.

Set ten years after the first season, the new installment will feature an original continuation of the story. Showrunner Justin Marks suggested the season may focus more on romance amidst a backdrop of war. Lead actor Hiroyuki Sanada, who is also an executive producer, will reprise his role alongside Cosmo Jarvis.

Following the conclusion of filming, Disney Plus released a video featuring Sanada and new cast members, including Ren Meguro, Asami Mizukawa, and Masataka Kubota. The series moves into the post-production phase, with no official premiere date currently announced.
