Siemens site closures and property liquidations in Germany

Siemens and its former subsidiaries are undergoing significant site closures and property liquidations in Germany.

In August 2026, Siemens AG announced the closure of its Moorenbrunn location near Nuremberg, which had served as the Digital Industries headquarters since 1985. As part of a consolidation effort to streamline German operations, approximately 1,600 employees moved to the Erlangen campus and 400 transferred to Fürth. The company began an online auction of roughly 1,400 pieces of office furniture and equipment from the site.

Separately, the former Siemens Nixdorf industrial site at Almepark in Paderborn is scheduled for a forced auction at the Paderborn District Court on December 2. The 40,000 square meter office complex has remained vacant for years following the insolvency of Fakt AG in 2022, which had previously planned a 200 million euro investment to transform the area into a technology quarter. While the land is valued at approximately 10.1 million euros, the property's market value is estimated at 5 million euros due to the desolate condition of the space and high demolition costs.
