Overview

Following wildfires in the Sierra Oeste region of Madrid, the regional government has implemented various emergency recovery measures.

Initial efforts focused on restoring technological infrastructure to 17 municipalities. To maintain internet and communication services, authorities deployed satellite connections, WiFi networks, and mobile coverage units, specifically addressing damage to local telecommunications stations in areas such as Pelayos de la Presa.

Subsequent relief operations have addressed the environmental impact of the fires, which destroyed 7,100 hectares of land. The Community of Madrid launched an emergency aid program for wildlife across six municipalities, distributing over 55,000 kilograms of food and 50,000 liters of water. This includes the installation of large and small water tanks and the provision of alfalfa and corn to support affected species.
