SIG Group cement supply management in Aceh

Overview

PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) responded to a sharp rise in cement demand in Aceh by increasing production and distribution capacity. To prevent stock depletion, the company maximized output at PT Solusi Bangun Andalas facilities in Lhoknga and Lhokseumawe, utilized the PT Semen Padang packing plant in Malahayati, and dispatched extra supplies from the Indarung plant.

By late August, SIG reported that cement supplies in the region had stabilized. The company maintained daily monitoring of stock and distribution to ensure timely delivery and to keep retail prices stable despite the increased demand.

Alongside these supply efforts, SIG introduced Bata Interlock Presisi (BIP), a new construction technology intended for affordable, disaster-resilient housing. This interlocking system is designed to enhance structural integrity in earthquake-prone areas and can reportedly reduce construction time and costs compared to conventional methods.
