The locomotive engine of the 15616 Silchar-Guwahati Express derailed on Thursday morning in the Lumding-Badarpur hill section of Assam, specifically between the Badarpur and Sukritipur stations.
No casualties or injuries were reported, and all passengers remained safe. The rear portion of the train, containing the passenger coaches, was pushed back to Badarpur.
