Skechers elite running footwear expansion

Overview

Skechers has expanded its presence in the elite athletic footwear market through new athlete partnerships and product launches.

The company first signed American middle- and long-distance runner Shelby Houlihan to its performance roster. Houlihan, a 14-time U.S. National Champion, will be the first athlete to represent the brand’s technical AERO Series.

Following this partnership, Skechers launched the AERO Elite, a high-performance ‘super shoe’ designed for distances ranging from 5km to marathons. The footwear incorporates several technical features, including Hyper Burst Pro™ supercritical foam, a full-length Quantum Plate™, and HYPER ARC® geometry. The launch is intended as a strategic move toward major global sporting events, such as the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.
