Adding to the crisis, the ruling coalition faces internal instability. Fico has demanded guarantees from the SNS party to maintain a parliamentary majority following a dispute regarding the potential replacement of Environment Minister Tomáš Taraba. Fico warned that without assurances of a stable majority, he may withdraw his proposal to dismiss Taraba to prevent a government collapse.
