On August 10, the Ministry of Interior formally refused to register the Austrian marriage of Metod Spacek and Ivan Novotny. The couple received a tripartite letter personally signed by Minister Šutaj Eštok, rather than a standard administrative decision, which they criticized as a political intervention. They also noted the ministry failed to act within the legally required 90-day period and announced plans to file a lawsuit at the Administrative Court in Bratislava.
