Slow Food 40th anniversary Terra Madre event

Slow Food is celebrating its 40th anniversary during the Terra Madre Salone del Gusto 2026, held from September 24 to 27 at the Gallerie d'Italia in Turin. Organized by Slow Food, the City of Turin, and the Piedmont Region, the event centers on the theme ‘Biodiversity – Be Diversity’ to promote “good, clean, and fair food” and address the urgent need to preserve biodiversity.

This edition also marks the 30th anniversary of the Salone del Gusto, honoring founder Carlo Petrini. The festivities are integrated into Turin’s urban fabric, spanning from Piazza Carlo Felice to Piazza Vittorio Veneto. The program includes approximately 1,000 activities, such as 200 conferences, 65 taste laboratories, and over 60 dining appointments. The Terra Madre Market features over 600 exhibitors, including more than 130 Slow Food Presidia, with participants from 120 countries.

The 16th edition of Terra Madre Salone del Gusto officially opened with an inauguration by the President of the Italian Republic. During the ceremony, the President emphasized that biodiversity represents a “vital heritage for human health and environmental stability” and remains a “crucial challenge for the future.”

As a Main Partner, Reale Mutua is hosting initiatives focused on nutrition, wellbeing, and longevity. This involvement is part of a long-term collaboration with Slow Food to promote sustainable lifestyles and primary prevention through food culture.
