SN HLM housing developments in Bambilor

The Société nationale des habitations à loyer modéré (SN HLM) has undertaken significant operations regarding its land holdings in Bambilor. Initially, the organization conducted a large-scale reclamation and rehabilitation operation to retake a 20-hectare site following illegal occupation and parceling by land grabbers. This intervention involved local authorities, including the deputy prefect and urban planning services, to restore order after protesters burned tires to claim ancestral ownership.

Following these efforts, SN HLM transitioned to the second phase of its HLM 1 program in Bambilor, alongside development work for Bambilor 2. This new phase involves the construction of 157 additional housing units through a rent-to-own model designed to assist middle- and low-income households. The project, which includes various villa types, is supported by financing mechanisms from the Islamic Development Bank and aims to provide over 600 serviced plots in alignment with national development goals.
