Social and educational inclusion initiatives in Brazil

Brazil has implemented various social and educational initiatives aimed at fostering integration and equity. Early efforts focused on immigrant integration through free Portuguese language courses. In Cocal do Sul, the municipal government partnered with the Federal Institute of Santa Catarina to facilitate communication and autonomy for foreign residents. Similarly, in Palotina, a partnership between the Sicredi Vale do Piquiri Abcd PR/SP cooperative and Uniguaçu University certified over 40 foreign students from nations including Venezuela, Cuba, and Haiti.

Subsequent programs have expanded to address broader diversity and technological training. Sebrae Minas launched the ‘Negócios Plurais’ track in Patos de Minas, providing workshops and consultancy for small business owners from marginalized groups, such as Black individuals, the LGBTQIA+ community, and people with disabilities. Additionally, the University of International Integration of the Afro-Brazilian Lusophony, in partnership with Brisa, introduced the TIC 16 ICT Residency Program. This initiative offers training in programming, artificial intelligence, and the Internet of Things for students and graduates in exact sciences.
