Social awareness initiatives in Mexico and Uruguay
Overview
In Mexico and Uruguay, artistic and educational initiatives have been implemented to promote social awareness and inclusivity.
In Xalapa, Veracruz, students from the Universidad Veracruzana participated in the ‘Catrina Ambulante XII’ artistic intervention. Working with the collective ‘Buscando a Nuestros y Nuestras Desaparecidas Veracruz’, students converted search files into graphic images and printed clothing to support families of missing persons and ensure the issue remains visible.
In Uruguay, the first cohort of Pedagogical Support Technicians in Inclusive Education completed their training at the Instituto de Formación Docente de Fray Bentos. To conclude their studies, they launched ‘In Someone Else’s Shoes’, a sensitization project using immersive stations to help the community understand the challenges associated with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and intellectual disabilities.
