Overview

During the first half of 2026, Honduras experienced significant social and security challenges. Data from the Instituto Universitario en Democracia, Paz y Seguridad (IUDPAS) documented 437 social protests between January and June, with the education sector being the primary driver of conflict at 31.1%.
