Overview

Sofia is celebrating its city day through a series of cultural events, headlined by the fifth edition of the LÙNAR light art festival. Running from September 17 to 20, the festival features an international immersive video mapping competition themed ‘Urban Pulse’ (or ‘City Pulse’). Seven finalists from various countries, including Indonesia, Italy, China, Poland, Ukraine, and the Czech Republic, are presenting works at prominent locations such as the Largo and the facades of the National Assembly and the Presidency.

Alongside the light art displays, the Sofia Municipality is hosting its annual cultural awards at the National Art Gallery, with writer Stefan Tsanev receiving a Special Award. The celebrations also include the conclusion of the ‘Sofia’ pop and rock song festival at the National Palace of Culture, which honored both musical legends and contemporary talents.
