Solar PV rollout in Czech public sector

In late July 2026 the Pardubický Region began installing photovoltaic arrays on 24 public facilities, including secondary schools, hospitals, children's homes and an ambulance base. The programme, funded with roughly 143 million CZK and supported by a 46 million CZK EU grant, aims to cut operating costs, increase energy self‑sufficiency and enable excess electricity sharing through an Energy Community of Eastern Bohemia targeting 37 organisations.

A few days later, municipal authorities in Česká Lípa announced a broader school‑modernisation effort that incorporates solar panels, green roofs, rain‑water reuse and improved building envelopes. The governor of the Pardubický Region reported that photovoltaic installations were now operational at all 24 public sites, including 12 secondary‑school buildings, and highlighted the automotive technical school in Holice where the solar setup is being used as an educational tool. The second snapshot shows the rollout moving from initial deployment to integration with larger refurbishment projects and curriculum development, while maintaining the same scope of facilities served.
