Simultaneously, the 2026 Taça Cidade de Sorocaba is launching. This Municipal Varzeano Football Championship features 19 teams split into four groups. The first division of this amateur championship is scheduled to begin on Sunday, August 30, with six opening matches. The tournament structure includes relegation for last-placed teams, who will move to the 2027 Taça Palácio dos Tropeiros.

For both competitions, Sequav has issued reminders that the use of fireworks is prohibited under Law No. 12.209/2020, although colored smoke remains permitted.
