South Aegean medical infrastructure upgrades

Overview

The South Aegean Region has launched a call for proposals to allocate €1,317,409 for modern medical technology equipment. Funded by the European Regional Development Fund under the ‘South Aegean 2021–2027’ program, the initiative aims to upgrade primary healthcare infrastructure in islands with populations over 3,100.

The project seeks to address equipment shortages and reduce health inequalities by strengthening primary and pre-hospital care across health centers and hospital units. The National Central Authority for Health Procurement (EKAPY) is tasked with submitting a proposal for the funding, with final project selection based on needs mapping from the Ministry of Health.
