South American public health and medical conferences

Medical professionals and educators are convening for several specialized congresses across South America to address regional healthcare challenges.

In Paraguay, the Universidad Nacional de Itapúa (UNI) is hosting the III Congress of Public Health and Leadership. The event focuses on disease prevention, health promotion, and national sanitary challenges, including breast and prostate cancer awareness. Discussions have expanded to include adolescent reproductive health, specifically the prevention of teenage pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections, with participation from international experts from the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) and the World Health Organization (WHO).

In Uruguay, the Universidad Tecnológica del Uruguay (UTEC) is hosting a workshop through the ECHO program focused on the detection and prevention of mental health issues.

Additionally, the Universidad Nacional del Comahue (UNCo) in Argentina is hosting the Fifth Patagonian Conference on Gerontology and Geriatrics to address the physical, psychological, and social dimensions of aging and palliative care.
