South Korean basketball Asian Games rewards

Overview

Following the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, South Korean basketball organizations announced prize pools for national team successes. The Women’s Korean Basketball League (WKBL) established a 150 million won prize pool to honor the women’s team for their first gold medal in 12 years, as well as the 3x3 team for securing a bronze medal.

The Korea Basketball League (KBL) issued a 100 million won bonus for the men’s teams. While the men’s side secured more gold medals, including in the 3x3 discipline, the KBL excluded the 3x3 gold medalists from the bonus pool because the players were university students rather than professional league members. The WKBL’s higher total was attributed to the inclusion of its 3x3 bronze medalists, who were all professional players within the league.
