South Korean life-sharing and donation campaigns
Overview
South Korean medical and educational institutions have launched various initiatives to promote life-sharing through organ and blood donation.
During the 9th annual Life Sharing Week, health institutions such as the Eumseong-gun Public Health Center and Bucheon St. Mary's Hospital conducted campaigns to increase organ and human tissue donation registrations. These efforts included mobile app challenges, quizzes, and consultations regarding advance directives for life-sustaining treatment.
Following these efforts, institutions have also focused on stabilizing blood supplies. Sahmyook Seoul Hospital partnered with the Seoul Eastern Blood Center to host a ‘Love Blood Donation Relay’, while the Chungbuk Blood Center collaborated with Catholic Flower Village University to encourage regular donations among students and faculty.
