South Korean local public housing recruitment

Local governments in South Korea are implementing various public housing initiatives to support vulnerable demographics, including youth, newlyweds, and multi-child families.

In Geumcheon-gu, the district is collaborating with the Seoul Housing & Communities Corporation to offer 12 customized rental units in Gasan-dong. These include ‘G Valley House’ for workers and entrepreneurs, and ‘Social Mix Youth Housing’ for a diverse community of single parents, seniors, and newlyweds. Eligibility is restricted to unmarried youth aged 19 to 39 meeting specific income thresholds.

Similarly, Paju City has announced recruitment for six units under its ‘FINE Housing Purchase Type’ program. This initiative utilizes city-owned assets to provide affordable options for non-homeowning residents. The program includes specific units for newlyweds and multi-child families, as well as youth housing equipped with essential appliances to lower initial living costs. Selection in Paju is based on a point system for residents who have lived in the city for at least two consecutive years.
