South Pars gas field infrastructure rehabilitation

Overview

Iran is working to rehabilitate production capacity at the South Pars gas field following damage sustained during previous escalations.

Reports on the progress of these repairs vary. Toraj Dehghani, CEO of Pars Oil and Gas Company, indicated that repairs to a gas refinery in Phase 14 have reached 70% completion, with full reintegration expected by the end of the year.

Conversely, Ahmad Zeraatkar, the Deputy Minister of Oil for Planning, stated that the field has recovered approximately 40% of its damaged production capacity. Zeraatkar noted that while some units returned to service ahead of schedule, full restoration of the damaged sites is expected to take at least two years. The rehabilitation is being managed through four major local projects using domestic financing and capabilities to stabilize the gas network for industrial, commercial, and domestic use.
