Southeast Asian AI data infrastructure and security
Overview
Synology is highlighting the critical need for robust data infrastructure to support artificial intelligence (AI) adoption across Southeast Asia. In Indonesia, a survey indicated that nearly 88% of companies worry their current infrastructure cannot handle AI-driven data growth, while only 20% feel confident in their ability to recover from ransomware attacks. To address these risks, the company is promoting strategies like immutable backups and air-gapping, alongside new hardware such as the PAS7700 All-NVMe storage system.
In Vietnam, similar challenges have been identified. While 91% of surveyed enterprises recognize the importance of data infrastructure for AI productivity, 56.7% cite data security and privacy as the main obstacles to implementation. Despite 97.6% of organizations having deployed data protection tools, only 19.1% feel confident in their ability to quickly recover from ransomware while protecting backup data. Vietnamese respondents show a preference for on-premises or hybrid cloud models, with 71.3% prioritizing enhanced data security during technological upgrades.
