Spain collective wage agreements

In late July 2026, Spain’s road freight and logistics sector secured new three‑year collective agreements in León and Barcelona. The León pact, negotiated by CCOO, grants a 4 % annual wage rise (12 % cumulative) plus a suite of bonuses for night shifts, loading, Sundays and overtime, with retroactive base‑wage increases from 1 January 2026. The Barcelona agreement, concluded by employer groups Transcalit and Uno with UGT and CCOO, sets slightly lower wage steps (3.5 %‑3.2 %) and includes clauses to adjust salaries if inflation exceeds the raises, alongside updates on leave, retirement, gender equality, teleworking, safety, LGTBI+ rights and sustainable mobility.

A week later, national data showed that collective bargaining across Spain delivered an average July wage increase of 3.02 %, marginally up from the previous month but still about 0.5 percentage points below the 3.5 % consumer‑price index. The figures reflect over 8.6 million workers covered by 2,768 contracts, with newer agreements (signed Jan‑July) averaging a higher 3.73 % rise. Unions UGT and CCOO are pressing for a fixed 4 % annual increase in the upcoming national framework (AENC), arguing that current gains lag behind inflation.
