Spanish charity sporting events for cancer research

Overview

Various regions in Spain are organizing sporting events to raise funds and awareness for cancer research and social causes.

In Valencia, the Valencia Against Cancer race, part of the RunCancer circuit, was rescheduled for November 22 following heavy rains. The event, organized by the Spanish Association Against Cancer, uses registration fees to fund local cancer research. Additionally, the Valencia City Council is hosting a Solidarity Race on November 8 to benefit organizations supporting multiple sclerosis, ADHD, and lung cancer.

In Valdeorras, local sports clubs are promoting the IX Carrera y Andaina de las Ciudades contra el Cáncer de Páncreas. Organized by ACAPAVAL, the event is set for November 15 in Vilamartín de Valdeorras. To increase visibility, football players from CD O Barco and CD A Rúa wore purple solidarity shirts. Proceeds from the races and walks will support the Carmen Delgado and Miguel Pérez-Mateo research grants for pancreatic cancer studies.
