By early August, attention shifted to investment. Salou earmarked roughly €350,000 to refurbish six playgrounds with inclusive equipment, and Seville’s Parks and Gardens department installed more than twenty aerators in three urban lakes to boost dissolved oxygen and curb algae.

In early August 2026, a wave of municipal projects across Spain added €1.8 million in public‑space and sports‑facility upgrades. Cambrils built a new pergola and revamped its market square; Torrelavega replaced the roof of the La Habana Vieja sports pavilion; El Escorial modernised two primary schools with energy‑efficient upgrades; Córdoba’s Institute of Sports carried out climate‑control repairs and added a canopy to the Vista Alegre sports hall; Cañada Rosal opened a new children’s playground; and Sevilla continued oxygenation work in its ponds. These actions extend the earlier trend, showing a sustained focus on enhancing community facilities while minimising disruption.
