Spanish Partido Popular political opposition
Overview
Representatives of the Partido Popular (PP) have conducted regional tours to criticize the administration of Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez and position the party as an electoral alternative.
In September, Secretary General Miguel Tellado addressed internal party organization and defended the President of Ceuta, Juan Jesús Vivas. Tellado accused Sánchez of being a ‘puppet of Morocco’ regarding migration management and criticized the government for shifting responsibility to autonomous communities.
By October, Deputy Secretary Jaime de los Santos expanded the party’s critique to include economic and judicial issues. During visits to Cuenca and Menorca, De los Santos highlighted rising costs for groceries and rent, criticized educational policies, and alleged that the Ministry of Justice has failed to advance infrastructure projects, such as new courts in Ciutadella.
