Spanish political disputes over home care services

Overview

Political debate regarding the management and funding of home care services for dependent individuals has emerged across different Spanish regions.

In Sanlúcar de Barrameda, the PSOE has proposed the immediate municipalization of the Home Help Service. Councilor Pacote Pizarro suggested transitioning the service to direct public management via the municipal company EMUREMASA, citing a 9 million euro budget for 2026 and support from local left-wing parties.
