Spanish regional professional training and innovation

Overview

Regional authorities in Spain continue to implement diverse training, innovation, and economic support programs.

In the Valencian Community, the Conecta Leader project—promoted by GAL Maestrat Plana Alta and funded by CaixaBank—is offering seven free courses between September and November. These sessions target freelancers, small businesses, and rural residents, covering Google Workspace, mobile photography for product sales, and communication strategies for the agri-food sector. Additionally, Sagunt has received 134,200 euros to promote innovative public procurement.

Digital literacy efforts also continue in Ponferrada, where the City Council and CyL Digital are providing in-person training through October. These courses focus on Microsoft Word, intermediate Excel, and navigating electronic administration for the Tax Agency, Social Security, and traffic authorities.

Economic and innovation incentives are expanding across other regions. Andalusia has allocated 91,000 euros to support youth-led entrepreneurship and social inclusion projects. In Castilla-La Mancha, the ESA BIC program offers up to 60,000 euros per project for space-related startups. Castilla y León has granted 415,422 euros to nine innovation clusters to strengthen the R&D ecosystem, while 350,000 euros were authorized for the Fundación Secretariado Gitano to improve socio-labor inclusion for the Roma community.

Rural development remains a priority through the resumption of the ‘En mi pueblo emprendí’ program by the Diputación de Cáceres, which supports individuals starting or strengthening economic activities in rural areas.
