Split local district elections

Overview

Ahead of the local elections for the Split 3 City District on September 27, 2026, Stipe Čogelja, Deputy Prefect of Split-Dalmatia County, endorsed the joint HDZ and Domovinski pokret list. Čogelja highlighted local developments such as new educational programs, health facilities, and the upcoming opening of a mental health center for children and adolescents.

Following the elections, unofficial results indicated a divided political landscape. The HDZ-DP coalition strengthened its presence in several districts, including Mertojak, Šine, Meje, Žnjan, Sućidru, and Pujanke. However, independent lists and other coalitions also secured significant victories. Notable independent successes included Luka Kovač Levantin in Spinut, who won with nearly 80 percent of the vote, as well as candidates in Sirobuja, Lokve, and Žrnovnica. In Trstenik, a coalition of Centar, SDP, Možemo!, and Direkt led the results, while the SDP-led list saw success in Lučac-Manuš and Gripe.
