Sports facility developments in Emilia-Romagna

Overview

In September 2026, several municipal sports facilities in the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy were inaugurated or reopened following significant investments.

In Casola Valsenio, a new sports facility named after Antonio ‘Toto’ Rivola was inaugurated. The 2.3 million euro project replaces a structure destroyed by a landslide in 2015 and overcame delays caused by the pandemic, rising material costs, and regional flooding in 2023 and 2024. Funding was provided by a combination of CONI, regional, municipal, and ministerial sources.

In Casinalbo, the Ascari gym was officially inaugurated following a 1.73 million euro renovation focused on safety, energy efficiency, and modernity. Supported by a 500,000 euro contribution from the Emilia-Romagna Region, this project is part of a broader municipal strategy to modernize four local sports facilities.
