Sports promotion initiatives in Serbia
Overview
The Sports Association of Serbia and the Ministry of Sports have conducted a series of promotional events aimed at encouraging physical activity and introducing various athletic disciplines to the public, particularly children.
In late August, the ‘Mali sajam sporta’ (Small Sports Fair) was held in Niš at the ‘Dušan Radović’ Primary School. The event featured approximately 50 local clubs offering disciplines such as gymnastics, athletics, football, basketball, and martial arts. Local officials noted that the initiative is supported by ongoing investments in sports infrastructure and free sports schools for children.
In late September, the 15th Sports Fair opened at Ada Ciganlija under the slogan ‘Sport Wins’. This larger event offered visitors the opportunity to experience more than 90 different disciplines. Organizers emphasized that the primary goal is to help individuals find sports they enjoy and to inspire children to join formal training sessions.
