Square Enix Romancing SaGa 3 release details
Overview
Square Enix has provided updates regarding the upcoming remake, Romancing SaGa 3: Destinies United, which is scheduled for release on February 16, 2027. The game will be available on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2.
Gameplay details include a non-linear exploration system and the introduction of five traveling companions: the Minstrel, Tatyana, Nora, Muse, and Charl. Combat mechanics feature the Glimmer system, which enables players to improvise powerful abilities during encounters, as well as new battle formations and a Ley Lines system for elemental attunements.
Additional systems include a Renown mechanic, where completing quests unlocks perks like expanded United Attacks and extra skill slots, and a forging and reforging system located at the Pidona Workshop. Players can also discover the series character Mr. S to unlock various advantages. Square Enix also noted that Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven has sold over 1 million units.
