Star Clippers cruise route and family program expansions

Star Clippers has announced significant expansions and specialized itineraries for its sailing cruise operations. The company plans a record expansion for its 2027 Mediterranean season, intending to visit nearly 30 ports across the eastern and western Mediterranean using its three large sailing ships: Royal Clipper, Star Clipper, and Star Flyer.

CEO Leo Chang noted that these new destinations aim to provide guests with experiences “beyond mass tourism.” In addition to Mediterranean routes, the vessel Star Clipper is offering specialized voyages, including a 20-night transatlantic crossing from Antigua to Malaga via the Azores, as well as sailing experiences through the Greek islands in the Aegean Sea.

Expanding its offerings for the winter 2026 and spring 2027 seasons, the company has introduced family-oriented travel programs. Utilizing the Star Flyer, Star Clipper, and Royal Clipper, these programs focus on activities such as snorkeling, wildlife observation, and exploring Caribbean islands. To encourage family participation, Star Clippers is offering special pricing, including a promotion where the first child travels “almost free of charge,” paying only minor port fees, and additional children can receive discounts of up to 50 percent during Christmas and Easter holiday periods.

New routes include voyages along the Pacific coast of Costa Rica, traveling from Puerto Caldera to the Islas Tortugas with activities like kayaking and glass-bottom boat tours. Other itineraries are designed to navigate away from major cruise ship lanes to visit smaller Caribbean islands.
