State of Mexico judicial integrity reforms
Overview
Judicial authorities in the State of Mexico have initiated a series of measures to strengthen institutional integrity and personnel welfare. Initially, leaders from the Superior Court of Justice (TSJEM), the Judicial Discipline Tribunal (TDJ), and the Judicial Administration Body (OAJ) signed a ‘Zero Tolerance for Corruption and Bribery’ pact. This agreement aims to address corruption, procedural delays, and abuses of authority.
Following this, the Judiciary of the State of Mexico (PJEdomex) approved a 2026 Code of Ethics and a Comprehensive Health Policy. The new ethics code establishes standards for impartiality and professional secrecy, specifically mandating that judicial decisions are not delegated to automated systems or Artificial Intelligence without human supervision.
Complementing these ethical standards, the Judicial Administration Body introduced a health policy focused on employee well-being. This includes mental health support, preventive medical exams, and measures to combat workplace violence through confidential reporting channels.
