Student motorsport engineering competitions in Spain

Overview

Student engineering teams in Spain have been preparing for various international and local motorsport competitions. Initial efforts included a group of teenagers from Nigrán and Baiona raising funds for a global STEM Racing championship in Singapore, alongside the Uniovi eTech Racing squad from Gijón, which redesigned its electric vehicle to meet technical standards for competition at the Montmeló circuit.

Following these preparations, the 16th edition of Formula Student Spain was held at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in early August. The competition featured 70 teams from 21 countries. Among the participants, the University of Ljubljana's team, Superior Engineering, secured second place overall with their electric racer, "Triglav," after successfully completing the endurance discipline.
