Studio Ghibli films are being featured in various international commemorative events. In Japan, New Chitose Airport will host screenings of ‘Castle in the Sky’ in September 2026 to mark the airport’s 100th anniversary, followed by a screening of ‘Porco Rosso’ in November 2026 as part of the 13th New Chitose Airport International Animation Festival.

In the United States, ‘Castle in the Sky’ is scheduled for nationwide theatrical screenings from August 22 to August 26 to celebrate its 40th anniversary. These screenings, presented by GKIDS and Fathom Entertainment, will offer both original Japanese audio and an English-dubbed version. The Studio Ghibli Fest lineup also includes a 4K remaster of ‘Princess Mononoke’ and a 25th-anniversary celebration of ‘Spirited Away’.
