Support for female entrepreneurs in Türkiye

Overview

Research and practical initiatives in Türkiye have highlighted the role of digitalization and design-led innovation in supporting female entrepreneurs.

A study conducted in Erzurum by researchers Dilşad Güzel and Ayşegül Turan found that digitalization positively impacts business experience and entrepreneurial success by optimizing processes and strengthening customer interaction. The study recommended increased digitalization-focused training to support regional economic development.

Following these findings, various support programs have been implemented across the country. In Gaziantep, e-commerce training and commission discounts were introduced for female entrepreneurs and cooperatives through the ‘Türkiye's Entrepreneurial Women Cooperation Protocol’. Additionally, the ‘Anadolu Emeği’ program was launched, utilizing a design studio model where university students collaborate with local women producers to improve branding, product development, and market access.
